Introduction

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a complex, life-threatening condition. Previous research in drug treatments and in the causes and progression of this disease has left major information gaps regarding the use of exercise to treat the physical debilitation that often accompanies this condition. The Rehabilitation Medicine Department within the Clinical Research Center at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is starting a 3-5 year research study examining the effects of aerobic exercise on individuals with interstitial lung disease and we would like you to be a part.
